Root Canal Diagnosis
At our dental clinic, we prioritize thorough and precise diagnosis before any treatment, especially for root canal therapy, retreatment, or endodontic surgery.
We start by understanding your symptoms, asking about the duration and triggers of your dental discomfort, and how it impacts your daily life. This helps us create a personalized treatment plan.
We conduct various tests to pinpoint the exact tooth causing discomfort. We check for sensitivity to pressure and temperature, often using an electric pulp tester to assess tooth health.
The Role of Radiographs
Radiographs (X-rays) are crucial. We take multiple images to see if the bone around the tooth root is infected and to what extent. Sometimes, we use CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) scans for a detailed view of the tooth and surrounding bone.
If tooth damage is confined to the enamel, it can usually be fixed with a simple filling. However, pain or sensitivity might indicate deeper damage, possibly requiring root canal therapy.
Ignoring treatment can lead to severe pain, dental abscesses, and the spread of infection. Root canal treatment can effectively relieve these symptoms.
Gum swelling, gum boils, foul taste, or bad breath often indicate the need for root canal therapy. Fever, swollen glands, and lethargy may suggest a serious infection requiring immediate treatment.
If the diagnosis is unclear, we don’t rush into treatment. We may recommend a follow-up appointment or refer you to a specialist at no extra charge.
At our clinic, we are dedicated to accurately diagnosing and effectively treating your dental concerns. Your comfort and health are our top priorities.
